Problem
CHAPPER healthcare is regularly contacted by hospitals and healthcare providers who need access to lifesaving products, urgently. This may be because the product is not registered in their own country, or because they are unable to source it themselves. For example, we received an order from a hospital in Peru recently for a patient who was in a critical condition following an organ transplant. The patient had contracted an infection and needed access to emergency antibiotics. The clock was ticking for the patient and it was essential that they received the treatment immediately, to ensure their patient care was not compromised.
Solution
We received the order on the Thursday evening and due to our close links with the manufacturer, we were able to receive the product directly the following day. Our team organised for the product to be immediately shipped using temperature-controlled logistics solutions and a specialist courier. The 15 – 25 °C boxes we use have been designed to keep their
temperature for a set amount of time depending where in the world the package is travelling to. We also use USB temperature loggers to review any temperature fluctuations over the duration of the journey to offer full reassurance to the customer.
