The CHAPPER healthcare team were delighted to hold the MSA Shoe at this year’s World Orphan Drug Congress USA held in Washington.
The MSA Shoe is on a symbolic world marathon to spread awareness of Multiple System Atrophy – a rare, neurodegenerative and progressive disease. There is no cure for MSA and very few treatments to manage its debilitating effects.
The journey originally began as a prank among a group of friends who wanted to make people laugh. One of those people was Pearl Turner, who had Multiple System Atrophy. To date, the MSA Shoe has visited over a dozen countries across the world.
